About the event
Join our homeschool families for a trip to the McLarty Treasure Museum on May 8. We’ll meet at the church (2285 Hickory Tree Rd. Saint Cloud, FL 34772) at 9AM and head over together for a fun and educational morning.
The McLarty Treasure Museum tells the story of the ill-fated 1715 Spanish treasure fleet—eleven Spanish galleon ships loaded with gold, silver, copper, and other riches that sank in a hurricane just off the coast as they were returning to Spain. Located south of Sebastian Inlet State Park on part of the former Survivors & Salvagers’ Camp site, the museum features exhibits and video presentations that recount the history of the fleet, along with artifacts, replicas, and an observation deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
This outing is a great opportunity for families to spend time together while exploring a fascinating piece of Florida history.
Admission is $2. Free for children under 6.
